On the needles

I needed, really needed, to knit something, something using some of my very own hand spun yarn, made from Redfish Dyeworks roving. Its a wool/silk blend and I love how it turned out. Its just one 4 oz skein, and I kept trying scarf patterns but wasn't finding anything that clicked. I broadened my thinking, started looking at beret patterns and decided on the Beret Easy Beret, and so far I'm loving the results. Plus, it really is an easy pattern and it should knit up quickly. I don't actually know if I like wearing berets, I hope I do. I guess I'll find out!

  1. Oh, it's really pretty!

I just started a log cabin blanket in Noro Yuzen. The self striping effect makes for beautiful squares. I'll bet handspun would work great for that, too. I bought all different colorways of the Noro on purpose. But you could use all different handspuns and it would be gorgeous.
