Quick Updates

He's home, he's home he's home. Evan came home from Japan Tuesday afternoon, with lots of stories to tell.  I heard stories all the way home from the airport (lots of time, thanks to afternoon traffic) and then some. The next day I didn't hear any stories at all, because Evan slept all day. (I'm so jealous.)  And then I think he was up all last night. I'm going to try to keep him up today so maybe he'll sleep tonight. Its only fair, I can think of plenty of times he kept me up at night. :-)

My dad went in for a CAT scan last week and the news is pretty good. The space left empty by the surgery still looks empty. I like teasing my dad about being an airhead now. A bit later today I take him in for an MRI; the doctors are looking for more detailed information, and mapping out the location for the radiation treatment that starts in August.

While I'm waiting for the procedure to complete, I'll be casting on a baby sweater. My sister's daughter is expecting a little boy. I've been looking at patterns for a couple of days now, and I've found one that should work using some sock yarn I dyed. Fun! More about that once I've checked gauge.

Oh, and now the weather is back to cool, cloudy and damp. I'm glad I got some things washed while it was sunny!

  1. I'm so glad you have good news on two counts, Shelly. PS My DIL ended up in the hospital last week for 5 days, so I wouldn't have made it to spinning anyway. Hope it was fun. Looking forward to seeing the baby sweater you start.
